Dear Members,

T

here was a great turnout for the Club’s 2011 Annual Golf Tournament which this year was held at the Kota Permai Golf & Country Club. The weather was set fine and the course in excellent shape and low scores appeared to be the order of the day.

The Awards Dinner at the Bankers Club saw the crowning of two new Champions in YBhg. Dato’ Sri Muhammad Syafiq Baljit who won the Men’s Gross Event, and Carol Tan who was the winner of the Ladies Championship. We offer our warmest congratulations to the two worthy winners, and to all trophy winners, and a big thank you to our generous sponsors who helped to make the event such a popular success.

The festive season will soon be upon us and the Club has plenty of opportunities for Christmas cheer available to Members. From 1st-23rd December there will be a Christmas Buffet in the Members Bar with Roast Turkey and Mince Pies. In addition to the normal à la carte menu, a set Christmas menu will be available for lunch and dinner in the Gallery (please see pages 7 and 8 of this issue for full details).

As an alternative, there will also be a range of Chinese food promotions in the Tang dining-room throughout December, and as a lead-up to the Chinese New Year of the Water Dragon, there will be a range of Chinese set menus and Yee Sang available from the 1st January-4th February (please see page 10 for more details).

As in previous years, the Club is making available a wide selection of Christmas Take Away Goodies for sale to Members. From Oven Roasted Turkey and all the trimmings to Christmas Pudding, Brandy Sauce and Mince Pies, and all at Club prices. A detailed selection can be found on page 9 of this issue.

On behalf of the Management and Staff of the Club may I take this opportunity to thank you for your support during the year and to wish you and your families a very Happy Christmas and a Prosperous and Healthy New Year. And to all our Chinese Members and their families a very Happy Chinese New Year of the Water Dragon.

I look forward to seeing you in the Club soon.
